Supplemental lighting is crucial for greenhouse cucumbers due to their high light demands and its power to influence plant growth and development. This study, conducted in collaboration with Lethbridge Polytechnic, titled “Optimization of Supplemental Lighting for Sustainable Cucumber Production,” aimed to elucidate the effects of supplemental lighting and the impact of different light spectra from various light sources on photosynthetic efficiency, plant stress response, growth and development, yield, fruit quality, and energy consumption in commercial-scale greenhouse cucumber cultivation. Using Vivent’s advanced technology, which directly measures signals from the plant itself, stress responses were accurately monitored throughout the season.
