Research paper: Delivering vines for the future
Discover how indoor climate control speeds up vine production, accelerates the development of climate-resistant grape varieties, and provides valuable insights into varietal differences for optimal growth and resilience. In this preliminary trial, two grape varieties grafted onto two different rootstocks were grown in Farm3’s tightly controlled modular farms and compared over a period of eight weeks using Vivent’s unique biosignal recorders and direct measurements of lignification length.
8 plants in each group were recorded:
- Chardonnay on 5BB rootstock
- Pinot Noir on 5BB rootstock
- Chardonnay on Fercal rootstock
Farm3’s intelligent growth chambers can be used to grow a wide range of plants for local consumption or to affordably produce seedlings, cuttings, and grafted plants ready to be transplanted in the field. Adding Vivent Biosignals’ crop health diagnostic technology, which uses artificial intelligence to decipher naturally occurring biosignals that plants emit in response to changing environmental conditions and biotic or abiotic stimuli, means that healthy plants can be produced economically.
